The influence of some of the major players in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is reflected in the most recent ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings.
Melee Kerr won the Aramco Player of the Tournament award for her remarkable season for champions New Zealand. Additionally, the tournament’s top wicket-taker has risen to sixth place in the ICC T20 Bowling Rankings.
The incredible Kerr is behind only West Indies captain Hayley Matthews in the All-Rounders Rankings and is 15th in the Batting Rankings.
The other leading wicket-takers for New Zealand at the T20 World Cup have also risen in the rankings: Rosemary Mair has climbed 10 positions to 27th place, and Eden Carson is getting closer to the top 10 and now sits in 12th place. Mair was selected for the ICC Team of the Tournament due to her outstanding performance in the United Arab Emirates.
With her greatest grade to date, Australia’s Annabel Sutherland has risen to eighth place among the bowlers, surpassing compatriot Ash Gardner and entering the top 10. Sophie Ecclestone of England continues to hold the top place.
Significant improvements have also been made by other Women’s T20 World Cup stars in the Batting Rankings. The only change in the top 10 is that veteran Suzie Bates has jumped ahead of Alyssa Healy into sixth place, while South Africa’s Anneke Bosch, who shocked Australia in the semi-final, is up seven spots to 13th.
